Targets

  • demonstrate scalability of CNT based electrode approach to industrial level
  • continuous production route for CNT-based electrodes
  • performance increase of CNT based supercaps against SoA commercial solutions

 

Steps

  • specially designed equipment for roll-to-roll processing of both the catalyst layer and the aligned CNTs (by AP-CVD)
  • coin cell fabrication tool for extended performance tests

  • cycle stability
  • energy density
  • power density
  • series resistance
  • temperature dependence

 

Performance tests: Charge/discharge - cycle stability

  • low internal resistance
  • good cycle stability up to 45.000 cycles
  • almost no side reactions

 

Electrochemical characterization => Impedance spectroscopy

  • low capacitance decrease at much higher frequencies
  • fast ion diffusion and conductivity

 

Unique high power density confirmed by CNT approach
